- I have mixed feelings about the death penalty. If there was truly a "life sentence" it would be much easier to get rid of it, but no this woman got three hots and a cot, and a free college education to go with a second chance.

- Part of the problem with NP's now is that ten years ago the nurses going to NP school had 15-20 years nursing experience then went back to school. Now you have RN's who just graduated getting there BSN and MSN online while working just enough to get through.

- How can the valedictorian not have a scholarship to college? A community college would probably love to have such a wonderful student. Live at home and work for spending money and book money. You don;t have to go to a fancy expensive school.

- You do realize that a significant amount of money that is given to religion is then used to house, feed and shelter the poor. Look at most of the charitable organizations for the homeless, food pantries, etc. Most are run by a religious organization.

- CT scanning every kid is bad and as an ER physician I try explaining to the parents the risks and benefits after a careful history and physical of course. It is sometimes hard to convince parents that it is not necessary. They want a test, a scan, something that "proves" their kid is OK.

- I don't think it is a matter of money going to the pandas that would go to something else. People give money to "save the pandas" that might not give to a vague conservation project. Ex: my daughter loves pandas.

- It wa a four day Carnival Cruise. They did not pay "$4-12,000 a head" They probably paid $500 each. While they didn't deserve this you do get what you pay for. Carnival is the McDonalds of Cruise lines not the best steak house
